Founded by Melanie Wright, Mel the Maker offers traveling candle experiences serving Philadelphia, PA and surrounding counties, designed to bring calm, connection, and a little magic directly to you.

 

We don’t host from a studio — we bring the entire candle-making experience into your space, transforming ordinary moments into sacred, creative intentions.

Mel the Maker is the creative offering of Melanie Wright — a caregiver, creative, and community builder whose life’s work is rooted in nurturing, healing, and intentional living.

Through candle-making experiences, Melanie blends artistry with calm guidance, helping each guest feel comfortable, inspired, and proud of what they create.

The Mel the Maker Experince

When you book a Mel the Maker candle experience, we bring everything to you.

We provide:

  • Standard 8-ounce candle glasses (minimum size for each guest)

  • Optional upgraded vessels, including mugs and specialty containers (additional fee)

  • All wax, wicks, fragrance oils, and supplies

  • Stickers, glitter, and decorative elements for vessel design

  • Music, essential oils, and a feel-good atmosphere

  • Guided instruction from start to finish
     

Each guest begins by decorating the outside of their candle vessel — adding color, sparkle, names, messages, or designs that make it uniquely theirs.

Then, the magic happens.

 

Guests choose one or two scents to blend into their candle, creating a fragrance that reflects their personality, mood, or memory. With gentle guidance, everyone learns how to pour, set, and finish their candle together.

 

Every candle:

  • Burns for 20+ hours
