Your child’s home away from home.
Gentle guidance • Childhood honored • Love leads
Welcome to The Wright Learning Center, a warm and nurturing home‑based daycare founded by Melanie Wright and rooted in care, connection, and intentional learning.
At The Wright Learning Center, we believe childhood is sacred — and that the earliest years should feel safe, gentle, and full of love. Our home daycare environment is designed to feel like a true extension of your child’s own home: calm, comforting, and guided by patience, compassion, and attentive care.
Here, children are welcomed just as they are. We meet each child and each family where they are, honoring their unique rhythms, personalities, and needs while nurturing growth, confidence, and curiosity.
✧ BirthWright Collective ✧
Birth Doula Support in Philadelphia, PA, and surrounding counties
Birth honored • Choices respected • You supported
BirthWright Collective is Doula Mel’s heart-centered birth doula practice, created to walk alongside families in Philadelphia, PA and surrounding counties during one of the most sacred and transformative moments of life. This practice was born from Melanie’s deep belief that every birthing person deserves to feel heard, respected, supported, and empowered throughout their pregnancy and birth experience.
Melanie knows that birth is not just a physical event — it is an emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal journey. At BirthWright Collective, her role is not to take over, direct, or override your choices, but to gently guide, support, advocate, and hold space for you as you move through labor and birth in your own way.

Our Philosophy
At the heart of The Wright Learning Center is a simple belief: children thrive when they feel safe, deeply loved, and truly understood.
Here, care is sacred, childhood is honored, and every child is gently held in patience and love.
As a home daycare, our program offers the warmth of a family setting with the care and intention of a professional learning environment. Melanie and her team nurture the whole child — emotionally, socially, and developmentally — through presence, compassion, and genuine connection.
Our approach centers on:
-
Creating a loving, home‑like environment where children feel secure and at ease
-
Meeting each child where they are with patience, understanding, and respect
-
Supporting social, emotional, and early learning through gentle play and exploration
-
Building trusting, collaborative relationships with families
Each day, we strive to create a space where children feel confident to try, comforted when they need rest, and surrounded by kindness as they grow.
A Message from Melanie
Before opening my home as a learning center, I spent many years working with children and adults with disabilities — experiences that gently shaped the way I care, teach, and connect.
Those years taught me patience, presence, and the importance of meeting each child exactly where they are. They showed me how powerful early support can be, and how deeply children flourish when they feel understood, respected, and believed in.
Today, that background lives quietly in everything we do here. I incorporate simple sign language to support early communication, mindfulness and meditation to nurture calm and emotional awareness, and sensory‑rich play to encourage regulation, exploration, and confidence.
I like to think of The Wright Learning Center as an early intervention space in the most loving sense — a place where children are noticed early, supported intentionally, and gently guided toward reaching (and often surpassing) the goals their families hold for them.
Here, every child is treated as capable, worthy, and wonderfully unique. i hope is that each child leaves our care not only prepared to learn but confident in who they are and how they belong in the world.
